Brush Fire

Kirwan Heights Fire Department was dispatched for a brush fire involving energized power lines. Approaching the scene, crews quickly realized that there were two separate incidents. A second brush fire had started due to a large power surge that had went through the business district moments before the 911 call was received.

Firefighters extinquished about a 100 square foot area of brush fire behind Office Max before responding to the original dispatched location behin Chuck E Cheese. Duquesne Light was onscene securing the energized line when crews arrived to extinguish about a 50 square foot fire there.

BVR-Tech

Basic Vehicle Rescue entered it's final weekend. All participants were trained to the Technician Level now, which means they are allowed to use hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic extrication tools. Congratulations to all participants for completing the class. Good luck on your upcoming State Certification Test.

Congrats!!!!

Congratulations to the Collier Township Little League baseball team for making it to the regional semifinals. It was a tough loss to New Jersey. From all the members of the Kirwan Heights Fire Department: CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Rehab at Cecil Twp. BVR Class

The final day of Basic Vehicle Operations took place today in Cecil Township. As well as having members participating in the class, Kirwan Heights Rescue 124 and Rehab 770 were in attendance to provide support.

I-79 Southbound Accident

Kirwan Heights responding to the report of a multi-car accident I-79 southbound at Exit 55. Crew arrived onscene to find several cars involved with minor damage. All patients onscene were treated and released.
