Thanks to All Participants in CPR Class

The Collier Township Firemens' Association would like to thank everyone who participated in the CPR class at the CE Kelly Support Center. Over 30 residents showed up to learn CPR and visit the health fair. We would also like to thank St. Clair Hospital and EMed Health for their participation, as well as Kirwan Heights, Presto and Rennerdale VFD for sending additional instructors.
Participants should expect to receive their cards in the mail (to the address you listed) within the next 4-6 weeks. If you need proof of certification sooner, please contact Curtis Mattoon or Rick Ward.

FDIC Show, Indianapolis 2011

Kirwan Heights Fire Department Officers attended the FDIC show in Indianapolis, IN for training and to preview the latest equipment and tools for possible future purchase. FDIC is the largest fire show in the United States, housing dozens of vendors and exhibits. Below is the Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.

MVC on Route 50

Stations 124 and 770 responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 50 (Washington Pike) near Mayer Street. Crews treated and transported two patients to area hospitals. Rescue 124 remained on-scene to provide traffic control and clean up.

770 Receives new Shelter

As part of the EMSOF grant this year, Kirwan Heights applied for and received an inflatable shelter to be used for fire scene rehabilitation. We are also in the process of acquiring heating and air conditioning units to provide temerature regulation during the winter and summer months. Stations 124 and 770 responded along with police for a two-vehicle crash on Route 50 (Washington Pike) around 16:30. Crews treated and transported three patients to area hospitals and assisted with debris removal.
